Mrs. Ronique RobinsonMrs. Ronique Robinson - Directress

I hold a B.A. in Political Science from York University, a Lower Elementary Montessori Diploma from The Canadian Montessori Teacher Education Institute and an Early Childhood Montessori Diploma from The Toronto Montessori Institute. I was a Casa teacher at another Montessori school in Mississauga before pursuing a Lower Elementary Diploma.

Prior to my Montessori career, I worked in the Legal field for a number of years, within Canada and also overseas. I lived and worked in the Cayman Islands and Dubai. This gave me the opportunity to travel to many countries and experience many different cultures.

I am excited to join Northstar Montessori Private School as a Lower Elementary Teacher. While studying for my Lower Elementary Diploma, I worked at Northstar as a Supply Teacher. I also had the privilege of completing my placement at Northstar in one of the Lower Elementary classrooms. Guiding children brings me so much joy and I look forward to working with the children at Northstar.

Mrs. Cora RuedaMrs. Cora Rueda - Directress

The wealth of experience teaching young children in a global perspective and the authentic inspiration of Dr. Maria Montessori have led me to a deeper commitment in providing an outstanding Montessori Education to our young learners. My academic qualification includes a diploma in the lower elementary education at the North American Montessori Training Center in British Columbia, Early Childhood courses offered via Seattle University and a continuing education in the lower and upper elementary program at the Toronto Montessori Institute.

I am a happy mother of four, two girls and two boys. Spending quality time with my family has made me enjoy life to the fullest as we strongly support each other at all times. My older girls work hard in their university studies while my two boys are enjoying their academic life in high school.

I am extremely delighted to share "the big part of me" to all our students and teachers alike here at Northstar Montessori School. I carry with me the treasures in "discovering the child" and the genuine love for children that would help them maximise their fullest potential as they grow and develop at their own pace. As a Montessori teacher, I firmly believe that giving out the best of one's self to help the child is one great strength that has kept me going. I find it truly rewarding when I see the joy of learning through the children's eyes, and the comfort of achieving their goals as they work hard each day. I feel honoured to be a part of this wonderful school. Lastly, I would like to thank the Northstar Community for giving me this great opportunity to share my gifts and skills to our young learners and I look forward to a fantastic year!

Ms. Shirley DanneMs. Shirley Danne - Directress

I graduated from the Montessori Training Programme, Sion Hill College in Dublin, Ireland. During my three years there, I qualified as a Directress in the Casa, Lower and Upper Elementary levels and also completed the Benicasa Special Education Diploma. I became aware of Montessori Teaching during my Secondary School years in Ireland when I volunteered at a special needs facility. I was fascinated to observe how these children and young adults, who were limited by physical abilities, were able to use the Montessori material to help them learn. Growing up in Ireland, I was surrounded by nature with the ocean on my doorstep and the countryside around me. I continue to have a deep love of nature as well as history and geography, so you will see that reflected in the classroom! I am so happy to join the wonderful teachers and staff who make up the team at Northstar, and I look forward to getting to know everyone here.

Mrs. Shirley SahniMrs. Shirley Sahni - Directress

I graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours BSc. in Environmental Sciences. For many years, I worked in the environmental sector before entering the field of Montessori. I am proud to say I have attained a Lower and Upper Elementary teaching diploma from The Toronto Montessori Institute (TMI) and I believe it is a great achievement in my life. Being the proud mother of a Iittle girl, I value the importance of instilling respect and good morals to the children around me, along with building a solid academic foundation for them. I am very passionate about teaching our young children valuable skills that will enable them to prosper and achieve success in life. By following the teaching philosophy and methods of Dr. Maria Montessori, I am certain these lifelong goals can be met. I am excited to be a part of the Northstar team, as they have given me the opportunity to work with a committed staff who equally enjoy working with children as much as I do. Here's to an outstanding year ahead of us!

Mrs. Nirvair GillMrs. Nirvair Gill - Directress

I am a dedicated Montessori educator who embraces the principles of Montessori’s educational philosophy. I have done a master’s in science before getting into the field of Montessori. I learned about Montessori philosophy 14 years ago, when I was pursuing my early childhood education. I spent a few years working in Casa, and I realized I have passion for teaching at the elementary level. This inspired me to obtain my training in both Lower and Upper elementary levels from Montessori Teacher’s College. I am blessed with two children, a boy and a girl, who have been going to a Montessori School from the beginning.

I believe in empowering my students to explore, discover, and develop at their own pace with a deep commitment to fostering, independence and a love for learning. I create a supportive environment where each child can thrive and reach their full potential.

I am very happy to join the amazing teachers and staff at Northstar, and I am looking forward to knowing everyone!

    Upper Elementary 2

Mrs. Balvinder DelillMrs. Balvinder Delill - Directress

I graduated from York University. I also obtained my Montessori Diploma from Toronto Montessori Institute. I knew early on as a child that I wanted to become a teacher as I found myself year after year admiring my teachers for their constant dedication, strength, and eagerness to help students in the class. I realized from a very young age that a career in teaching was one of great responsibility to our future. I constantly work toward motivating students to their highest potential and creating an environment where students are safe while being given the tools, socially and academically to find success throughout their education. I engage students to become life-long learners as my teachers have made me. I enjoy working at Northstar as I am surrounded by optimistic and supportive staff members. The teamwork between the teachers has helped me overcome challenges and empower me to become a wonderful motivator to my students. My students at Northstar have continued to give me inspiration and motivation everyday within the classroom. Most of all, I enjoy teaching students and the greatest reward comes when their faces light up with joy when they have accomplished their goal.

    Ms. Jessica Rubini

I recently graduated from McMaster University, obtaining a B.A degree in sociology, and a Mohawk College certificate specializing in applied behaviour analysis. After graduating, I decided to enroll in Montessori Teachers College to complete the lower elementary diploma program, which I am currently working towards achieving.

I have worked as an inclusion instructor for children, teens, and adults with exceptionalities for more than 5 years. This has provided me with substantial experience supporting individuals with diverse needs, varying on each person’s strengths and weaknesses. Assisting individuals with exceptionalities has equipped me with behaviour management strategies, as well as essential attributes to teaching, such as empathy, patience, and adaptability. Working in this role has further inspired me to teach with Montessori, as I align with and deeply value the philosophies of Dr. Maria Montessori.

I am ecstatic to begin my vocational journey here at Northstar in becoming a teacher who is welcoming, inspiring, and a core contribution to the healthy development of all my students.

    What Other People Said...

"My daughter has been at Northstar since she was 2 years old and started in the Toddler Program. She is now in the final year of the Casa Program and my son has taken her place in the Toddler Room. I can’t say enough about how Northstar has gone above and beyond to ensure their success. The school takes an individual approach to each student, recognizing that each child learns in their own way and at their own pace. My daughter has excelled in this non competitive environment and is outperforming her circle of peers who are older than her in the public system. She has a love for learning and truly enjoys working with the Montessori materials. The Casa Program does a great job of ensuring that the students really understand what they are learning. The Toddler and Pre Casa Programs are both nurturing and educational and truly set the stage for learning at the higher levels. My son at just a year and a half has shown great independence as well as the ability to follow direction and play well in a group setting. The school has done a great job of balancing both the social and academic needs of the child which in my opinion is key to their success." - Shelley
