AQUATIC SUPERVISOR/INSTRUCTOR in Mississauga, ON
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a mature, responsible and child-friendly individual who has years of experience in a pool environment. This position is to cover maternity leave for a minimum of one school year and summer months. There is a potential for a full-time supervisor / instructor role in the future for evening/weekend classes. Candidates must have great communications skills, be a team-player, flexible and hold required swimming credentials. A CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certificate is a plus.
The qualified person will manage the swimming program, pool chemistry, schedule and direct the program and provide instruction to our school students. Age ranges from 4 to 12 years of age. They will also assist in hiring and managing swim instructors during after hours and weekends. Training will be provided by the current supervisor during the current school year and summer months to allow easy integration for the following school year program. This job has great potential for those who want to be part of our growing swim program now that the pandemic is slowly ending. We are overwhelmed with clients and need to expand our hours. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- National Lifeguard - Pool
- Standard First Aid & CPR C
- Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor
Additional certifications as asset
- Aquatic Supervisor
- Pool Operator level 1
- Lifesaving Society Instructor/Examiner in any stream
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Recreation Leadership or related field preferred.
- Recommended minimum 2 years instructing and supervisory experience.
- Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills
- Experience using Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Forms
- Written communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Flexibility regarding assigned working hours, including evenings and weekends.

We are currently seeking qualified Swim Instructors (Part Time) evenings and/or Saturdays. Our program is expanding and is in need of Individuals who are enthusiastic, motivated and self-directed, working with children/adults. Must be able to communicate well and take pride in their work.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to, providing safe swimming instruction programs in accordance with prescribed Lifesaving Society or Red Cross standards. This includes preparing lesson plans, core plans, worksheets, and progress reports.
