I completed my postsecondary studies at the University of Western Ontario with a BA in English. I completed my Montessori training with the Centre for Montessori Teacher Education - New York, an AMS accredited training centre. Following my training, I commenced teaching at Northstar Montessori in 2002. My desire to pursue teaching as a profession stems from my belief in the intrinsic value of all children and their innate ability to learn and discover. Teaching also enables me to be a life-long learner while imparting my own passion for learning in my students. I have always had a personal interest in working with children in various capacities. The Montessori environment has been the ideal venue for me as it enables me to inspire, motivate, nurture, and guide each of my students to become the best they can be – academically, socially, and emotionally. I regard the effective education of students of paramount importance and will continue to strive to provide a challenging, innovative, harmonious, caring, and supportive environment to each child with whom I encounter. The Northstar community is aligned with my personal vision to persevere with the Montessori philosophy of empowering our students to achieve their greatest potential. Northstar is more than an academic institution; it is a community of individuals – educators and parents – who truly care about the whole child. Northstar allows us to foster the development of each of our student through the spirit of cooperation.
