I had attended Seneca College as well as York University before I attended Sheridan College, where I received my Early Childhood Education in Montessori, an AMS program. I started at Northstar five years ago in a Casa classroom and have maintained my position in the same class. I have two children. I am a Montessori teacher because I love children and I believe in the Montessori Philosophy. I am at Northstar because it is an incredible school that is culturally diverse and everyone’s differences are accepted. It is a truly unique and wonderful place. It is where I belong.

Shahzad Shah - Directress

I attended St. Josephs College in Karachi, Pakistan. I also received my AMI diploma in Karachi Pakistan many years ago. I started at Northstar Montessori in September 2004. I do not actually have children of my own but right now, I consider the twenty seven students in my class as my own! I am a teacher because I love children and it gives me great satisfaction to see them grow and learn. Each day brings new experiences, joy and laughter. I had worked for North York Montessori in Richmond Hill for many years. One year I came to Northstar for an observation visit and after watching the children and meeting the school staff I said to myself if ever I left North York Montessori, I would like to work at Northstar. It happened that North York Montessori closed in June 2004 and I luckily started at Northstar which true to my expectations has a true Montessori environment, warm staff, children and parents.

Arian Nouri - Assistant

I received my Early Childhood Education Diploma at George Brown College (2004-2005) and I currently attend the Montessori Program (Early childhood level) at Sheridan College (2007-2008). After obtaining my Early Childhood Diploma, I was very interested in Maria Montessori’s philosophy and theory of education. Having the privilege to working in a Montessori environment as a placement student, guided me toward the right path. With the help and encouragement of my professors in college, I applied to the Sheridan Montessori program. I am here at Northstar Montessori to complete my placement for my program at Sheridan College while working as an Assistant teacher. Northstar Montessori is an amazing school to work in and it is my pleasure to work with such wonderful staff, parents and children.
