Northstar Montessori would like to welcome everyone back to school and we are very proud to announce the commencement of our fifth school year. We hope you had an eventful summer! We are all very excited about the year ahead and are expecting much success and happiness. There have been several changes in our school this year and you may have noticed a few new faces. And finally, in the office you will find Mr. Boni Ebron and/or Mrs. Virginia Ramirez who is the Administrator/Principal.
In addition, many of you already know that Northstar has launched a website filled with information about the school. Those of you that are just beginning to use the internet, may reach our site at:

Soon our newsletters may be read right off your monitor. Feel free to comment on our site and ask any questions that you have regarding your child's education. Remember, Northstar's motto is to "Guide your child in the right direction!"
3).... ATTENTION!
One of the students in Mrs. Gosal and Mr. Doupé's class has a noncommunicable medical problem, which is treated with a drug called prednisone. Because of this treatment, this child is likely to have severe problems if exposed to chicken pox or measles. If your child develops either of these diseases, please inform the child's teacher immediately. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.
4).... "Falling-Down Time of Year" by Aileen Fisher
The Fall of the year, the Fall of the year, is really a very good name, it's clear: for leaves fall down all over town. They fall on their feet and they fall on their crown, they fall from the trees till the lawns are brown when Summer is over and Fall is here, in the falling-down time of year.
5).... "The First Day of School" by Aileen Fisher
I wonder if my drawing will be as good as theirs.
I wonder if they'll like me or just be full of stares.
I wonder if my teacher will look like Mom or Gram.
I wonder if my puppy will wonder where I am.
6).... Physical Education
Students should be wearing the Northstar shirt and a pair of navy blue shorts underneath their track suit making the changing procedure as easy as possible for everyone. They also need to wear appropriate socks and running shoes.
Have all your child's clothing labelled to avoid any misplaced items.
Hair should be tied back and all jewelry removed.
Since they are transported to the gymnasium on Monday mornings by bus, please make sure that your child is at school on time. The schedule for gym is as follows: Casa Classes in Northstar II 9:30 - 10:30 (Dwivedi/Kiriella, Luthra/Mannell) Casa Classes in Northstar I 10:30 - 11:30 (Doupé/Gosal, Haji/Tyleman)
Elementary Classes 11:30 - 12:30 (Carreira, McMillan, Richards)
The gym uniforms will be available for sale again this year and the order form is attached with this newsletter. There are sample uniforms in the office for you to view and please be aware of the deadline to return orders to the school.
7).... Scholastic Books!
We are continuing with the ordering of Scholastic books this year. If you are interested in purchasing any books, fill in the order form and return it on or before the specific due date with a cheque to your child's teacher. The cheque should be made payable to Scholastic Books. We will not be accepting cash this year.
